ART THEORY AND HISTORY
This course explores Florentine Renaissance art, offering an original and stimulating overview. The artworks will be examined in relation to the sites, history and the reason why they were created.
The city of Florence is a true three-dimensional history book of European art: that is why this course consists of lessons in the classroom as well as numerous tours and visits. The program will be established so as to represent an authentic artistic and cultural experience.
This course targets professionals in the sector as well as antique lovers in general. The students will document the evolution of different techniques, types and styles from the fifteenth up to the twentieth century, with references to regional models, court styles, and the history of furniture. The course also includes visits to museums, galleries, public and private collections, and restoration workshops.
