Daniel Ponce Taylor


Originally from Spain, Daniel Ponce-Taylor has lived in Australia, the UK, Costa Rica, and Mexico. He is deeply committed to conservation and sustainable development, especially within marine ecosystems. Daniel holds an MSc in Sustainable Development of Coastal and Marine Ecosystems and a BSc in Oceanography with Marine Biology. Since the early 2000s, he has played a pivotal role in initiating and managing conservation and community development projects worldwide, focusing on sustainability and contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In 2023, he was elected Vice President of CANIE Europe. Daniel also holds the position of Co-Chair of the NAFSA Sustainability Special Interest Group. In 2024, he embraced the role of Chair for the Sustainability Action Group (SAG) at AEF, committing to further advancing sustainability, a core value of the Accademia, by integrating it more thoroughly into AEF’s programmes, courses, and operations, as well as by promoting more community-based sustainable initiatives for our students, in collaboration with the Academic Office and the Student Life & Community Engagement Office.
